The High Plains Reader recently published a story about the proposed Summit pipeline and detailed some of the reactions that affected landowners had about proposed easements. Kurt Swenson is one of the landowners who have concerns about Summit’s plan.
“After reviewing the proposed contract with the help of attorneys, Swenson said that no attorney in the state of North Dakota would recommend signing it.”
Summit has been successful in getting some landowners to sign; however, landowner holdouts have discussed the issue eminent domain with ND legislators, convincing some that it isn’t appropriate in this situation.
