Property Rights Concerns Highlighted in Landowners Lawsuit

The Bismarck Tribune ran a story related to our client’s recent lawsuit related to property rights and land survey laws. It details the concerns landowners have about current state law regarding land surveys as well as the power the North Dakota Legislative Assembly has granted the North Dakota Industrial Commission legislative power to “amalgamate” land for carbon storage. The landowners were active during the recent legislative session, attempting to address these issues, but “the lack of progress with lawmakers has prompted the group to take the matter to court.”
