This week, the Northwest Landowners hosted a 2-day “Emerging Industries” conference. Landowners from across the state came together to learn more about the rapid expansion of new and evolving industries in North Dakota. The event featured a variety of industry experts and speakers aimed at fostering understanding and meaningful conversation. Read more about their conference here and here.
With this rapid growth of industries, Braaten said it’s important as a landowner to be educated.
“What landowners need to understand is there’s definitely another development boom coming, and it spreads across the entire state, and it’s not just localized in the oil patch or in coal country but really everywhere in the state,” Braaten added. “We’re going to see the impacts from this new development, and that’s not a bad thing. But landowners need to be educated and understand what their rights are and how to deal with it.”
Additionally, our client’s 2023 lawsuit challenging North Dakota’s carbon dioxide storage law was just featured in a Bismarck Tribune roundup highlighting key legal challenges to state laws in 2025. Read about it here.
